REVENUE GREW 7.6% FOR TOP 30 CANADIAN PEER-TO-PEER FUNDRAISING PROGRAMS IN 2025

Collective revenue surpassed $215 million

BALTIMORE, MD, UNITED STATES, February 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Nonprofits operating Canada’s top 30 peer-to-peer fundraising programs recorded their fourth consecutive year of post-pandemic growth in 2025. Together, these programs raised $215 million, representing a 7.6% increase in fundraising revenue, according to a new study released by the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum at its annual conference.

Participation also continued to rise. The top 30 programs engaged 5.1 million participants in 2025, marking a 6.2% year-over-year increase.

The Terry Fox Foundation’s Terry Fox Run once again led the field as Canada’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising program. The Run raised $33 million, fueled by a strong 23.9% increase over the prior year, and delivered the largest dollar gain of any program with growth of $6.4 million.

“In 2025, peer-to-peer fundraising in Canada demonstrated both resilience and reach,” said Marcie Maxwell, CEO of the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum. “This year’s Canadian report represents the largest study of Canadian peer-to-peer programs in our 13-year history, giving us an unprecedented view into how these programs are evolving. What stands out most is how organizations are strengthening community and connection while adapting their approaches to meet supporters in meaningful and sustainable ways.”

Key findings of interest to industry leaders include:

• 22 of the top 30 programs reported positive revenue growth in 2025.

• MS Canada’s WeChallenge MS ranked 30th on the list, raising $1,750,254. This total reflects a $240,204 increase, or 16% more than was required to earn a spot on the 2024 list.

• Three programs joined the Top 30 for the first time in 2025: Hockey Helps the Homeless’s Pro-Am Series at #7, the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Push-Up Challenge at #15, and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s RBC Race for the Kids at #26.

• The Canadian Mental Health Association’s Push-Up Challenge achieved the highest percentage growth in participation, increasing 42% to reach 70,400 participants.

• With four programs on the list, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation led all Canadian nonprofits in the number of industry-leading peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives. The Canadian Cancer Society and MS Canada followed closely with three programs each.

Peer-to-peer fundraising involves nonprofit organizations engaging their supporters in activities such as charity walks, bike rides, DIY campaigns, livestreams, endurance events, and other in-person and virtual challenges. Participants then rally their networks of friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues to solicit donations for the cause.
